Bailey Ranger

Bailey Caravans Ranger series offers affordability without compromising on comfort or style

The Ranger series was introduced to the Bailey Caravans portfolio in 1996, as a replacement for its predecessor, the Beachcomer. After receiving mixed reviews the Beachcomer series was scrapped and Bailey went back to the drawing board, to create a new budget-conscious alternative.

Adding mains lighting, blown air heating, flyscreens and window blinds, a fridge/freezer, space heater, TV aerial and sprung upholstery, all for under £9,000. The light-weight and affordable price tag saw 1,000 Bailey Ranger units sold in the first year.

The broad appeal of the Ranger led to healthy sales, has since been credited with turning Bailey Caravans from a niche business into mainstream caravan manufacturer.

At the end of the 1990’s, Bailey Caravans celebrated their 50th birthday with the launch the GT50 anniversary edition – which sported different graphics and soft furnishings. Since then, there has been the Bailey Ranger Series 5 which was launched in 2005, followed by Bailey Ranger Series 6 and Bailey Ranger GT60 in 2008.

The Bailey Ranger has some of the lightest unladen weights available in its class with the top of the range 6 berth model weighing in at just 1522kg.

This range of tourers come with the usual Bailey Caravan refinements; user-friendly control panels, mains electric hook up and sockets, with the introduction of a range of other features. High quality furniture and flooring bedeck the interiors, whilst the washroom sports a shower unit fixed with a ceramic ball mixer tap, and a fully fitted vanity unit with wall mirrors and integral storage.

Security wise, the Bailey Ranger comes fitted with a Selectamark electronic tagging system, and VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) inscribed in the chassis member and all exterior windows.

Overhead storage at front and rear, Status 530 directional television aerial, Thetford 107 litre fridge and a Thetford C-250 cassette toilet are just some of the features that make the Ranger a high spec tourer for this price range.

Thermal efficiency

Grade 2 listed EN1645-I insulation is complimented by the Truma 3002 3kw gas heater with 230v Ultraheat system with a silent night running setting and Truma Ultratherm blown air distribution system. The Truma ultrastore water heater can run on either gas or electricity, and there is a dedicated gas bottle locker located in the front of the caravan.

The Bailey Ranger has now been in production for well over a decade, yet still has a deserved reputation as an affordable tourer that doesn’t compromise on style or comfort.
