Castle Dracula And Questionable Road Surfaces

Castle Dracula welcome the Bristanbul tour

While in Romania I was totally surprised about how good the road conditions were until I ventured off the beaten track into farmland. On top of that we took a tour of Castle Bran AKA Castle Dracula.

New First Time Drivers And Night Time Walks In Dracula Country

New towing staff and some poor road conditions make for the best lessons

The Bristanbul tour had some fantastic new additions this week in the form of ex Eastender Ryan Philpott and Dean Howard, who's new cookbook will released later this year. Neither of them had towed before let alone on the other side of the road. We also had 2 of our camera crew dip their toe into the world or towing.

The Turkish Border Crossing And Getting To Know Bailey Australia

With an 8 hour delay at the Turkish border I sat with Bailey Australia

Today was a very interesting, and that's putting it very mildly. There has been some issues at the non EU borders but the Turkish/Bulgaria had to be the most problematic of them all. Every cloud does have a silver lining as I got to spend a good amount of time with the guys from Bailey Australia.

Site Review Camping Veliko Bulgaria

Waking up at this site was just what the doctor ordered

So as you may be aware there was a little bit of a hold up at the Turkish border for the #Bristanbul tour last night. We had planned to arrive at our destination in Bulgaria for around 8pm local time and have a nice dinner on site. Well that plan did not quote come to fruition.

The Sites And Sounds Of Istanbul

I pitch up and head into Istanbul

Touring holidays do not stop once you're parked and pitched. As I am sure many of you will agree the touring on foot is just as important as the vehicle side of your trip. After the slight hell that was towing through Istanbul it was decided that a trip into the city, on foot, was well deserved.

Towing Through The Backstreets Of Istanbul

Ever wondered what towing round the backstreets of Istanbul was like?

As we made our 184 mile journey to Istanbul from Gallipoli I saw some sights, weird policing, questionable motorway maneuvers and traffic like I have never seen before in my entire life.

Saying Goodbye To Greece And Hello To Turkey

The beautiful sites of Turkey

Today was supposed to be a much shorter day because we left Camp Alexandros very early so we could make the most of out time in Gallipoli, Turkey. One thing we did not anticipate was the serious levels of security we would find at the Turkish border.

Motorway Driving With Better Weather Inner City Towing And Cooking

Today I faced a whole new set of challenges with inner city towing and hairpin bends as well as amazing weather and a massive surprise breakfast that could have fed the spartan army. Upon waking up at Camping Bled the team were presented with 1 hamper for every 2 guests. What was inside the hamper blew me away. 1 large thermos of coffee, 1 whole bag of chocolate croissants and rolls, chicken pasta salad, cheese, 3 different hams, roast beef, salmon, frape cheese, yogurts, salad and spreads. Now times that by 4.

Another Day Another 3 Countries And Extreme Weather Towing

Heavy rain, cross winds through mountains all while towing. Exciting stuff

So today has been an eventful day to say the very least. We have covered three countries, well started in one then travelled across another 2, we completed our 1000th miles as we drove through Italy, saw some of the most beautiful terrain through the mountains and then towed through rain that was so heavy you could not see 30 feet in front of you. That will get your heart pounding.

Todays Adventure 3 Countries In 1 Day And Border Crossings

The beautiful mountain ranges of the French Alps as we make our way to Italy

Today is a big day on the tour as we embark on our journey to cross 3 countries in 1 day. Although we are only traveling 10 miles more than yesterday we are still managing to tick as many countries off of our list as possible. By the end of today we will be setting up camp at Lake Garda in Italy, which just so happens to be a destination that is right at the top of my bucket list of places to visit. Happy days!

Caravan And Car Combo Win For Family Worth £34,000

A fantastic win for a family who visited the February NEC super show

We all love a good competition here in the UK and we all want to win whatever is on offer. These competition winners certainly walked away with one of the best prizes I have seen in a very long time at the February NEC Show.
