With the summer holidays now upon us, there is no better time to get away with the whole family. Kids under 5 and four-legged friends stay for free at all sites, and many sites offer stays for just £1 per night for children between 5 and 17.

Plus the Club offers great discounts of up to 49 percent at family attractions such as Chessington World of Adventures and Legoland Windsor. You can check out more in their Great Savings Guide.

Here are the Caravan and Motorhome Club's top sites for kids and dogs this summer:

Explore Wild Somerset

The stunning Exmoor National Park is the perfect destination for families with a sense of adventure, from exploring the rolling moorland or searching for the infamous Exmoor ponies. Wimbleball Lake is Somerset's top spot for water sports, and people of all abilities can enjoy fishing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding.

Stay at the Exebridge Lakeside Club Site and enjoy stunning Somerset on your doorstep. Prices start at £33.30 for two adults and two children, for a standard pitch awning. Nestled amongst rolling green hills, the site is perfect for little ones and furry friends alike. An on-site play area and playground are great for small kids. Dogs benefit from a fenced dog walking area close to the site, and the site itself is rated 5 out of 5 paws in our Paws of Approval dog-friendly ratings.

Hit The Seaside At Southport

From the thrilling kitesurfing and land-boarding at Ainsdale Beach to the natural beauty of Formby Beach, the sweeping coastline of Southport truly has something for everyone. Southport itself has a range of fun child-friendly attractions including Southport Pleasureland, Lakeside Miniature Railway and Botanical Gardens. Further afield, nature-lovers have easy access to the stunning beauty of both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Moors.

The Southport Club Site is a great spot for fun-loving families. Prices start at £31.20 for two adults and two children, for a standard pitch awning. There are a number of lovely walks based in the local area, including Formby beach itself, which is great for dog walking.

Take It Easy In The Cotswolds

The unspoilt beauty of the Cotswolds makes it the perfect spot for a break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. With miles of lush countryside broken up by honey-coloured villages and castles, there's plenty to explore. Visit some of the best country pubs in the UK and enjoy the local produce, wander through 'wolds' or enjoy pottering through lively market towns. There's also plenty to keep little ones busy, from Cotswolds Wildlife Park to Chedworth Roman Villa.

Stay at the Burford Club Site. Prices start at £33.00 for two adults and two children, for a standard pitch awning. Children between 5 and 7 stay for just £1 a night. Sleepy Burford is an excellent base for families to explore the local area, with Bourton-on-the-Water a stone's throw away. Here you can explore the wonderful Motor Museum and Bourton Model Village.

Enjoy The Lincolnshire Coast

The Lincolnshire coast has buckets of seaside charm that both kids and adults alike will enjoy. Enjoy a stroll along the Sutton-on-Sea promenade, hit the Pleasure Gardens or simply explore it's sandy Blue Flag beach. A short drive inland lie the Lincolnshire Wolds, where you can explore the midlands natural beauty by foot or bike and stop for cake at one of the many quaint local tearooms.

Stay at the newly refurbished Sutton-on-Sea Club Site. Prices start at £31.60 for two adults and two children for a standard pitch awning. Children between 5 and 7 stay for just £1 a night. The roads have been re-tarmacked and pitches resurfaced, as well as the introduction of a dog and bike wash area and extended play area. The site is perfectly located for easy access to plenty of activities, including bowling and tennis facilities, and a paddling pool for kids.
