Firefighters tackle blaze at caravan park as five caravans go up in flames

Fire engulfs five caravans and damages more in afternoon blaze

An investigation has been launched following a fire at a caravan park in Warrington, near Salford.

Enquiries are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire at Hollybank Caravan Park after emergency services were called to attend to the blaze at approximately midday yesterday afternoon (Thursday).

Three fire engines from Warrington and one fire engine from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were called in to tackle the blaze, which saw five caravans engulfed in flames, with a further number suffering from heat damage.

Fire crews used four hose reel jets and four breathing apparatus to deal with the incident at the park located in the Hollins Green area of Warrington, however no life threatening injuries were reported.

Firefighters subsequently removed several cyclinders and used a thermal imaging camera to make sure they are safe.

Hollybank Caravan Park is one of the only touring caravan parks within the local Hollins Green area and features both hard standing and grass pitches.
