Trigano Group, known for their range of camping equipment, has completed a deal to buy SEA Group, an Italian manufacturer that produces its range of motorhomes.
The company, which owns French firm Auto-Trail, moved in for a deal after the Italian manufacturer suffered a series of financial difficulties.
These problems have stemmed from a notable decline in demand for motorhomes in the Italian market.
Despite these problems, Trigano is evidently confident of success with this latest acquisition viewed as part of the company’s ongoing plan for “development through external growth in the fields of leisure vehicles, accessories for leisure vehicles and trailers,” in the words of the firm itself.
Trigano is best known in the UK for its Roller Team, Chausson and Auto-Trail motorhome brands and the company will be hoping to turn around SEA Group’s fortunes, having acquired 100 per cent of its capital and financial debt.
Both parties are now awaiting ratification of the move from the Italian and German competition authorities.
