The 2013 Sterling Eccles SE is the latest addition to the popular range of Sterling touring caravans. Launched together with its sister range, the Swift Challenger SE, the Sterling Eccles SE range features many of the luxury features of the Swift Conqueror brand and also enjoy a lighter weight, allowing them to be towed by a greater range of family cars.
Keeping warm
A major development in this range is the introduction of the Alde radiator central heating system, fitted as standard in all Eccles SE caravans. Similar to domestic central heating, the mechanism, powered by gas or mains electric has variable output of up to 3KW. A user-friendly touch screen control panel aids ease of use, allowing the owner to use variable settings in order to set the heating according to their needs.
The new range includes seven proven layouts, six single-axle and one twin-axle version. These range from the two-berth Eccles Topaz SE to the six berth Eccles Amethyst SE. Other layouts consist of a range of four berth options which include fixed and convertible bed models.
Modern Styling
An attractive feature of the new range is the ‘Italian Ash’ woodgrain which will compliment the cream locker door infills. The upholstery is styled with contemporary fabrics to create a spacious and luxurious feel.
A new layout that has been introduced is the Eccles Jade SE, a four-berth with front parallel seating, side wrap around dinette and end washroom.
Significant remodelling on the styling to the outside of the range includes a dramatically raked front, topped with a panoramic roof window allowing for better aerodynamics when travelling.
Energy efficient
The new model sports a 20-watt roof-mounted solar panel, fitted as standard, which will help top up the battery without mains hook-up whilst caravanning or even when in storage. This energy saving theme is continued with the continued use of the low-energy LED lighting system with new features including a backlit kitchen splash-back, under worktop lights, backlit mirrors in washrooms and wardrobe illumination.
Other luxury touches in the new range include fabric roller blinds and heated towel rails in all models. Upgraded fridges with removable freezer compartments have also been added alongside an Omnivent three-speed, two-way roof fan.
Safety first
With all the improvements made to the range, security has been at the forefront of the design with the Sterling Eccles SE range fitted with the Tracker Retrieve Thatcham-approved tracking system as standard. This device could not only help retrieve a stolen caravan more easily but will also help to reduce premiums on caravan insurance. Also included as standard is the company’s industry leading 10-year bodyshell warranty.
